Pool

It was barely 3 pm, but it had already been a long hot day. We decided to take a dip in the pool.

The Oasis wasn't a four-star resort in many respects, but they did have a decent pool. However, like most other things at the hotel, the operating hours sucked. The pool didn't open until 9 am, and it closed around dusk (which would have been about 5 pm for us). When we came back on the shuttle at 5:30 pm the day before, they had already closed the pool in order to set up their electrical hazard...ahem, fountain display. So, we took this opportunity to get in a few laps.

By the way, the tables in the background were where we ate all of our dinners in Egypt. I had spaghetti most nights and Ma had chicken. Okay, so we weren't adventurous eaters in Egypt. For a country whose staple food is pigeon, can you blame us?

Laura Croft: Tomb Raider. Maybe not.

The hotel had a playground for the kids. They also had tennis courts, a basketball court, and a gym, although we didn't use any of them.
