Making progress

I've been intending to do this project for a long time. Well, I'm finally doing it! Before I put up the fence this spring, I promise to have the brick edging finished around the veggie garden.

I better get moving because the peas and lettuce are sprouting and I've got hungry bunnies lurking!

Speaking of wildlife... As I went out this evening to take pictures, I startled a raccoon out of the brush. I tried to get a shot of him (with the camera, hehehe), but mostly he's just a brown lump amid the dandelions. Can you see him? Hint: he's practically dead center. (Is that a Freudian slip?)

The sound of silence

The right speaker on my laptop stopped working. It's a total bummer. I hate Hulu'ing with a left channel only, but my external speakers make me feel "chained down".

I took apart the laptop (and took this photo), but I couldn't figure out how to remove the speaker. Any ideas? The circle on the upper right and the circle just below the speaker appear to be the ends of screws. Could the speaker be mounted from the back?

More than double

Well, my yellow daffodils have started to bloom, and there's surprising variety. Here's an average "single" daffodil. Pretty. But typical.

Then there are a few of these lovely ladies. I'd call it a "double", but it's more like a triple or quadruple. Awesome. It's practically a carnation! I'm surprised the stems are able to keep them upright.

My bleeding heart by the back door is doing awesome. I had two, but I think the other one succumbed. This one is doing beautifully.

Speaking of the garden by the back door, my tulips are just now starting to open. These red ones are first.

Daffodils!

Yep, I got a whole mess of 'em. And they all decided to bloom Friday night! (I think I'll see a second wave with bright yellow ones in a few days.)

I've also got some peach hyacinths blooming.

I spent most of today outside. Now it's getting ready to storm. Man, I love spring!
