The other large structure on the Acropolis is the Erechtheion. Back in the Golden Age, it would have housed another statue of Athena, this one symbolizing her role as protector of the city.

The most famous photos of the Erechtheion are of its porch supported by Caryatids. The real ladies are mostly in the Acropolis Museum (and one in the British Museum). The ones you see here are reproductions.

We were being shoo'd out of the Acropolis as it was closing. I took one last photo of the ceiling of the Propylaea on my way out.
After a long day of walking, we had trouble deciding just where to eat. We wandered forever until we settled for Greek fast food at Everest across from Syntagma Square. There's another Everest at the metro stop at Omonia Square (which in hindsight would have been more convenient). Ma had a salad, and I had a delicious ham & cheese slice of "pizza" plus a traditional cheese pie called a "tiropita".
Wow, that was a long day. We saw a ton of stuff.

Greek TV was interesting. They showed CSI in English with Greek subtitles. They also had an eyebrow-raising number of porn channels.
