The Drive

Waiting for the gang to gather, I took this opportunity to admire the impressive buck Danny got yesterday.

Troy and Alex prep for the ride up to the west woods.

All set.

With the safeties ON of course.

Our drive consists of three hunters and four drivers (including me).
(Is that a smile from Norm?)

Let's scare up some deer!

Troy was stationed at the end in a "stand".

Not more than thirty seconds after we started the drive, Troy shot this respectable spike.

One of the less pleasant details of deer hunting is the "field dressing". Basically you cut the deer from breast bone to tail and rip out everything inside the rib cage. When you dump it out, you get a pile of organs like this. The smell is lovely, too.
