Dearly beloved, we are gathered here...

This weekend was my cousin Amy's wedding up in the Twin Cities.

The church was pretty interesting. The nave was wide and short, not long and narrow like most. Our family filled the pew right smack dab in the middle of it. The aisle ran from left (stage right) to center.

The sun decided to poke its way out of the clouds in time to light up all the beautiful stained glass during the vows.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen.

The Happy Couple

Amy's dress was gorgeous. And check out James stylin' shoes!

Butterflies! Or at least we're colored like them.

Mother of the Bride.
Maureen confessed that her jewelry cost more than the dress.
(The way it should be!)

For the hour or so between the ceremony and the reception we hung out at a sports bar down the street.

The cake was beautiful and delicious. The note beside the cake says,

"Mr. and Mrs. Jiggity Jigsaw Cake Topper

"Though these two are from the same tiny (yet scattered) planet, they certainly had a difficult time finding one another!

"It saddened them to watch their friends and relatives find their own one-of-a-kind perfect fits, when they so longed for one themselves.

"Then one day, and with the fates on their side, they suddenly found themselves holding hands, and haven't been separated since."

What a lovely sentiment!

Dig in, James!

Amy's headpiece was stunning. Vintage-looking and oh-so flattering!

My other favorite dress of the day was my Aunt Peggy's. My cousin Beth's scarf positively made the outfit.

Speaking of Beth, she made this cross stitch wall hanging for Laurel's baby, Julius.

(Just seven months post-delivery, Laurel looks amazing!)

All done, packing up.

It was an awesome weekend. Such good food! Such good company! Such a wonderful occasion to celebrate together!
I can't wait until we get together for my cousin DJ's wedding in September!

Best thing since ... bread

I was making myself a sandwich the other day and encountered this single "slice" of bread.
My first reaction: get the camera. (Yes, I have a problem.)

Mother's Day Brunch

We had brunch at Koshkonong Mounds. What a beautiful day!

Happy Mother's Day, Ma!

I love you, Ma. I especially love...

...traveling with you...

...and baking cookies with you.

Thank you for being such a great MOM!
